The first trailer of AVATAR wasn't that impressive to me. The first thing in mind: oh, another CGI movie, but with big blue smurfs. Great. Well, normally a trailer shows the best parts of the movie, and most of the time the trailer is 10 times more tense then the real thing.
Damn, was I wrong. Last week I went with some friends to the special premiere of AVATAR in 3d IMAX in Amsterdam. OMFG!! 162 minutes of beauty! This is the first time ever, I really got sucked into the movie. The 3d isn't the cheapy 3d effects of arrow beeing shot into the audience, or whatever, it;s to enhance the amazing world of Pandora. To experience to story, to give you the feeling of actually beeing there.
This is the first time I spend 15 bucks TWICE (yep went again this weekend) on a movie. And guess what? I am going again :)
So go watch it in 3d IMAX and enjoy the movie, like movies should be: entertainment.
Na lang wachten was het gisteravond zo ver. Samen met homies Roel & Jerry en Ruurd zijn we naar de speciale Veronica IMAX voor premi?re van Star Trek 2009 geweest. De sfeer zat er al goed in bij het entree over de rode loper. In gehuurde Veronica chickies stonden de mensen toe te juichen.. om je het gevoel te geven dat je een VIP was. Bullshit maar wel grappig. Roltrap op, glas champagne en bij het betreden van de zal je mobieltje inleveren! (wereldwijd gaat hij pas overmorgen in premiere, dus eist de distribiteur dat er geen opnamen vooraf uitlekken.) kwart over 9 eindelijk de band gestart en reclame... Nog niet echt sensationeel. En dan na de trailers van T4 en Transformers2 eindelijk... De film.
Mijn god.. Wat knalt het geluid eruit en wat vet dat IMAX. De film is ECHT SUPER!
Vanaf het begin tot het eind actie / humor en kippevel momenten. Puur cinema genot!
De afgelopen week hebben we elke avond een paar afleveringen Dexter zitten kijken van season 1. WOW! Zeker een aanrader. Ik weet niet eens of hij op de nederlandse tv wordt gedraaid, maar mocht dat zo zijn.. kijken! Momenteel zijn zit in de States Season 4 eraan te komen en wij beginnen vanavond in onze prive bios aan season 2. GENIETEN! :D

Decorated Iraq war hero Sgt. Brandon King (Ryan Phillippe) makes a celebrated return to his small Texas hometown following his tour of duty. He tries to resume the life he left behind with the help and support of his family and his best friend, Steve Shriver (Channing Tatum), who served with him in Iraq. Along with their other war buddies, Brandon and Steve try to make peace with civilian life. Then, against Brandon's will, the Army orders him back to duty in Iraq, which upends his world. The conflict tests everything he believes in: the bond of family, the loyalty of friendship, the limits of love and the value of honor.
Well the past week I was caught by the flu and had to sweat it out of my system with a fever. finally today my first day without any fever and I was able to watch some movies while still in bed.
At first it didn't "grabbed" me that much, but after a while I really got sucked into the story. For me this was one of the BEST pictures I have seen in a while that will mindspin your thoughts. It's a pity it only has 2 nominations for the OSCARS 2008 (* Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role &* Achievement in Film Editing). Anyways the ending of the movie really touched me and gave me goosespots all over. Just go see it in a theater. (btw its inspired on a true story and directed by Sean Penn and music score is done by Eddie Vedder.. yeah the dude from Pearl Jam!!!)

Well after Tarantino's best work "Reservoir Dogs" & "Pulp Fiction" for me his movies went downhill. Jacky brown was okay, Kill Bill was okay (I loved the anime part) but his latest flick part one of grindhouse "death proof" really sucked. Dialogs are perfect when you have trouble falling a sleep. There is one huge awesome crash, and thats about it.
For me the only cool thing was watching Vanessa Ferlito giving Kurt a lapdance. mmmmm
SCI FI Channel announced that it has renewed its Peabody-winning original series Battlestar Galactica, ordering 13 new episodes. Production will resume this summer in Vancouver, Canada, with an eye toward a January 2008 premiere.

Ik kijk eigenlijk amper tv. 'savonds in bed nog even zappen naar de staat van verwarring, en het late NOS journaal, en dat is het eigenlijk wel zo'n beetje. Verder volgen we eigenlijk niet echt iets. We hebben niet eens een abo op een tv gids :) Maar soms eens in de zoveel tijd zijn er toch series waar je reikhalsend naar uitkijkt als je net weer een aflevering hebt gezien en de aftiteling gaat over je scherm. We zitten met smart te wachten op de laatste afleveringen van Grey's: Wishin' and Hopin' 2/1/2007 314 - Walk On Water 2/8/2007 315 - Drowning on Dry Land 2/15/2007 316 - Drowning on Dry Land 2/15/2007 316 . Shit en dan zit season 3 er alweer op. Ik zal je eerlijk bekennen ik hem menig keer met een brok in mijn keel zitten kijken. Anyways, vanavond was het BSG avond + prisonbreak (prisonbreak wordt alleen nu een beetje erg uitgemolken vind ik). Wat volgen jullie zoal? (trouwens 24 hebben we nu twee keer een start mee gemaakt, maar is niet echt ons ding.)

Watched it this afternoon, and its GREAT!!!! If you loved Rocky and Rocky II you will really like this one. (forget about III / IV and V there where CRAP). This one is back to basics again. Music is great! and LOTS of rocky to the top moments with goosespots all over :) hehehe enjoy!

Every feel good action movies has it, the "Rocky to the Top" moment. The part where the underdog goes fighting against the odds! In the Rocky movies, it was Rocky running up the stairs, starting to belief in himself. Now once more, one final fight... Oh man, trust me, this one is gonna be CULT! ROCKY BALBOA. Watch the trailer below, and GO WATCH it in the theater this Christmas.
To me, every film that has the signature M. Night Shyamalan is a masterpiece. We watched tonight his last movie LADY IN THE WATER, lights out in total darkness and the sound pretty loud (sorry neighbors!). And again, from beginning till the end of the movie I was captivated by just every single minute. I loved it!!! Not as good as my all time fav. Unbreakable, but close. 9.5 out of 10. If you gonna see it, watching it on a bigscreen or in the theather. Just to get a little taste of it watch the trailer below.

Pulse is a remake of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's: Kairo. I was really looking forward to this one. And to be honest, it wasn't even that bad. If you look at the critics it is really bad. But to me, it was a joy to watch the artwork and visuals. I really loved it. (but it never got really scary).

I have been waiting almost a year for this one, but finally it starts again! Battlestar Galactica is back!! If you don't know Battlestar Galactica, and you only remember the 1978 series (if you are as old as me) the really go give it a try. What it is about?
The world ended with no warning, and all that was left ? was hope.
The Cylons were created by the people of the Twelve Colonies. Intelligent robots, they were used as slaves and soldiers to fight humanity's wars. But the Cylons became sentient and they rebelled. Man and machine fought to a bloody stalemate, then the Cylons withdrew to a remote region of space.
A truce between the Twelve Colonies and the Cylons lasted for 40 tense and silent years. Each year, on the anniversary of the treaty-signing, humanity sent an envoy to the neutral ground of Armistice Station to meet with a Cylon envoy. For 39 years, no Cylon envoy came.
Then, on the 40th anniversary, a stunning blonde ? a Cylon in human form ? met the human envoy ? moments before the Cylons vaporized the station and launched a genocidal attack on the Twelve Colonies.
In one devastating day, billions of human lives were consumed by nuclear fires. Only those souls fortunate enough to be aboard starships were able to band together and escape and flee into deep space, led by the sole surviving Colonial warship, the battlestar Galactica.
The Galactica and its crew seemed to be unlikely saviors for humanity's fewer than 50,000 desperate survivors. The ship was old and had been about to be decommissioned and turned into a museum when the Cylon attack occurred. In the aftermath its commanding officer, William Adama, found himself responsible for safeguarding the last remnants of the human race.
Meanwhile, the annihilation of the Colonial government on Caprica resulted in the succession of Laura Roslin, the Secretary of Education, to the presidency. Driven by prophetic visions and political necessity, she set the fleet upon a quest that will take it into the farthest reaches of unexplored space ? in search of the mythical, lost "13th colony" ? Earth.
