Bring IE6 down!
The premise is simple: Internet Explorer 6 is antiquated, doesn?t support key web standards, and should be phased out. This isn?t about being anti-Microsoft, it?s about Microsoft?s lack of development in the browser market. With IE7/8 not available for Windows 2000, IE6 accounts for up to 20% of web usage, primarily via business users. Clients pressure designers to ?force? sites to work in IE6, and designers, not wanting to lose business, comply, using hacks and workarounds. This wastes time and money. Microsoft needs to fix this, designers need to unite, and we all need to move on.

A visual exploration on mapping complex networks
Complexity is a challenge by itself. Complex Networks are everywhere. It is a structural and organizational principle that reaches almost every field we can think of, from genes to power systems, from food webs to market shares. Paraphrasing Albert Barabasi, one of the leading researchers in this area, ?the mistery of life begins with the intricate web of interactions, integrating the millions of molecules within each organism?. Humans, since their birth, experience the effect of networks every day, from large complex systems like transportation routes and communication networks, to less conscious interactions, common in social networks. check

Vista with copy protection
"The upcoming Vista version of the Windows operating system will not allow illegal copies of music and film.
The Windows XP successor will include extensive copy protection mechanisms, according to the Munich-based magazine Windows Professionell.
This includes "Protected Video Path - Output Protection Management" (PVP-OPM), intended to prevent copies from being stored on the hard drive or the contents of the RAM from being read out.
PVP-OPM also monitors how content is used by controlling monitor outputs like TV ports. The "Protected User Mode Audio" (PUMA) will also prevent the illegal copying of music. Microsoft declined to comment for this article. (dpa)"
