The first trailer of AVATAR wasn't that impressive to me. The first thing in mind: oh, another CGI movie, but with big blue smurfs. Great. Well, normally a trailer shows the best parts of the movie, and most of the time the trailer is 10 times more tense then the real thing.
Damn, was I wrong. Last week I went with some friends to the special premiere of AVATAR in 3d IMAX in Amsterdam. OMFG!! 162 minutes of beauty! This is the first time ever, I really got sucked into the movie. The 3d isn't the cheapy 3d effects of arrow beeing shot into the audience, or whatever, it;s to enhance the amazing world of Pandora. To experience to story, to give you the feeling of actually beeing there.
This is the first time I spend 15 bucks TWICE (yep went again this weekend) on a movie. And guess what? I am going again :)
So go watch it in 3d IMAX and enjoy the movie, like movies should be: entertainment.

Na lang wachten was het gisteravond zo ver. Samen met homies Roel & Jerry en Ruurd zijn we naar de speciale Veronica IMAX voor premi?re van Star Trek 2009 geweest. De sfeer zat er al goed in bij het entree over de rode loper. In gehuurde Veronica chickies stonden de mensen toe te juichen.. om je het gevoel te geven dat je een VIP was. Bullshit maar wel grappig. Roltrap op, glas champagne en bij het betreden van de zal je mobieltje inleveren! (wereldwijd gaat hij pas overmorgen in premiere, dus eist de distribiteur dat er geen opnamen vooraf uitlekken.) kwart over 9 eindelijk de band gestart en reclame... Nog niet echt sensationeel. En dan na de trailers van T4 en Transformers2 eindelijk... De film.
Mijn god.. Wat knalt het geluid eruit en wat vet dat IMAX. De film is ECHT SUPER!
Vanaf het begin tot het eind actie / humor en kippevel momenten. Puur cinema genot!

De afgelopen week hebben we elke avond een paar afleveringen Dexter zitten kijken van season 1. WOW! Zeker een aanrader. Ik weet niet eens of hij op de nederlandse tv wordt gedraaid, maar mocht dat zo zijn.. kijken! Momenteel zijn zit in de States Season 4 eraan te komen en wij beginnen vanavond in onze prive bios aan season 2. GENIETEN! :D

Nieuwjaar! Nieuw begin blog. Ik switch maar weer naar Nederlands ipv Engels omdat 99% van de bezoekers Nederlandstalig is. Na een wat onrustige start van het nieuwe jaar zijn we inmiddels volop bezig met frisse moed.
Geen goede voornemens behalve minder opvliegend te zijn en wat vaker tot 10 te tellen. Meer ZEN en wat vaker meebuigen volgens de TAO leer. Zal nog wel een leerproces voor mij zijn, maar hopelijk zal het positief uitpakken.
Ik wens iedereen in elk geval een fijn gezond en liefdevol 2009 toe.

The orginal template we used as blueprint for artchicky is downloadable everywhere, but i guess they rather ripp the site and only change same colors and pictures, and leave all the source links etc in place.

I watched the movie last night and was pretty impressed by it. Good acting Good script 5*!!
Decorated Iraq war hero Sgt. Brandon King (Ryan Phillippe) makes a celebrated return to his small Texas hometown following his tour of duty. He tries to resume the life he left behind with the help and support of his family and his best friend, Steve Shriver (Channing Tatum), who served with him in Iraq. Along with their other war buddies, Brandon and Steve try to make peace with civilian life. Then, against Brandon's will, the Army orders him back to duty in Iraq, which upends his world.
